The Top Must Have Items for Reviving Dry Winter Hair

Winter time is when moisture evades our hair the most. Luckily if you find that you are going through a dry spell, with these must have items you can easily restore moisture in your hair.

Q-Redew – The air is not as moist as it tends to be in warmer weather, which means your hair is going to be more prone to dryness. You can alternatively use the shower for a steam treatment to wake up thirsty curls or even your clothes steamer, but the Q-Redew offers a more direct and convenient way of doing so.

Loads of Conditioner! You may have skipped conditioner in warmer weather without consequence but now is not the time to try it. Using a deep conditioner will be of the utmost importance this season and never forget to use your leave in. If you haven’t found a good conditioner yet here are some key ingredients to look for:

  • Water should be the #1 ingredient
  • Look for humectants (ingredients that attract moisture) like Honey, Agave and Vegetable Glycerin
  • Shea Butter is an excellent emollient that works to seal in moisture
  • All natural oils (olive, coconut and avocado oil all penetrate into hair strands)
  • For deep conditioning look for a product that has hydrolyzed proteins

More about what to look for in a deep conditioner. Hot Head Deep Conditioning Cap – You are going to want to be on top of deep conditioning to maintain your moisture. However, everyone doesn’t always want to be tied down to a hooded dryer. Which is what makes the Hot Head Deep Conditioning Cap Such a great tool. Use heat to help your deep conditioner penetrate your strands effectively without limiting your movement.

Microfiber Towels – A regular cotton towel is drying to hair and also adds to frizz. Go for microfiber towels instead and will see a reduction in the dryness you experience after cleansing your hair.

Shea Butter – Shea will be effective at sealing in moisture and preventing moisture loss. Use a leave in conditioner or water based product first then use Shea to put moisture on lock. Our Safflower Whipped Shea can be used on the hair and body. It is smooth, light,] easy to manipulate, contains Omega 6 &  Oleic Acid, seals in the moisture and will not weigh your hair down. Our Shea comes in Rosemary/Lavender, Vanilla and Lemon Scent.
