I only used two packs for my bohemian look and I cut the hair in half. However, I wanted a shorter shoulder length look like the pictures in this post. If you want something longer I would suggest going with 4 packs to be safe.
Waterwave freestress is also great. Ive also used cozy deep just put it up in a ponytail and cowashed and moused afterwards. It held up very well.
