You didn’t section your hair

Poor water quality

You aren’t using water
If you decide to use a leave in for the first step of the LOC method rather than just plain water, make sure that the product has water within the first 5 items of the ingredient list; ideally it should be the first item (same thing for your cream). The product must contain water in order to be an effective moisturizer.

Protective styling not only helps you to retain more length but it also helps you hold onto more moisture. Hair worn out will lose moisture faster than hair that is worn in a bun for example. Try doing more protective styles especially during cold dry weather and see if it makes a difference.

Avocado and Olive do in fact penetrate: Scientists at the Textile Research (J. Cosmet.Sci 52, 169-184, 2001) tested Olive oil, Avocado oil, Meadowfoam seed oil, Sunflower oil, and Jojoba oil. Their results showed that straight chain glycerides like olive oil easily penetrate into the hair.
What does that mean in plain English? Olive and Avocado oils penetrate all the way into the hair shaft.

I wear my hair out a lot due to my short hair and because I don’t know how else to really style my hair. Also I use LCO method because I read oils/butter should be applied after water and my cremes usually have water has the first ingredient. Thanks for the info.
My hair is multi-textured and very dry. So I use the LCO method, but what I do is wait in between each layer, so I spray with the tea, wait until its damp/nearly dry then add the cream, wait again until dampish and then finish off with the oil. Depending on your hair it will be a few minutes in between each layer. this also helps with the build up.
